Stovies

I'm still feeling unwell. My lovely mum attempted to make me Stovies while I was at work, except she accidentally added cocoa powder instead of gravy granules. Move over Heston Blumenthal!!! :-D

For the non Scots on here this comic strip is the well known long running strip Oor Wullie, it features in the Sunday Post along with The Broons. Both comics originate in Dundee, so the Scots dialect featured comes from there.
Stovies are a traditional Scottish dish and there are lots of variations. Most are minced beef, potatoes and veg such as onion and sometimes turnip, all bound together with gravy. Another variety (and my favourite) is with Scottish square (Lorne) sausage.
