Kitchen Capers...

Up at 6am this morning to be ready for 7.30 as busy day here today with a meeting re. Alan at 9.30 (future planning) the painter back after the holiday weekend and the landscapers starting to clear the side garden.

We were very organised and bacon rolls for 9 ready and served just after 9.30am.  The landscapers Bruce and Darren arrived at 9.20am and commented on the smell of bacon emanating from the house so I was pleased we had included them in the bacon roll count.  They got a pleasant surprise when David took them rolls and a cuppa each.  Just hope they're not expecting that every morning  :-))

This afternoon Kenny and Jennifer came up.  Kenny was helping David deliver training to Alan's team leader Ashleigh regarding getting Alan in and out of the pool safely.  It all went very well and Alan had a great time in the pool.

In the meantime Lola's new bed arrived.  She was very impressed with is....as a chew toy!!!  The manufacturer had stitched a leather patch on the front with a paw print on it.  A leather patch?  What were they thinking? There was no way she would rest until she had chewed the leather patch off.  I ended up cutting it off and at last she used it as she was supposed to (see extra)

Alan and Lola had a right hoot to themselves in the kitchen this evening.  Lola was jumping round Alan's chair and sniffing his toes (not nibbling like she has been) she was also licking his left hand and generally enjoying being around him.  The feeling was mutual. As they were having such a nice time together I was trying to get photos from a distance so the quality isn't great but they give a flavour of the bond that is growing between them :-))

Thank you for all your kind comments on yesterday's blip.  I've been reading  all the tributes on Sandy's Facebook page and it's clear he meant a lot to and inspired everyone who knew him, even casually.  That is a legacy to be proud of.
