Born to go Wild
We were out to Eden Court again this time to see Ray Mears, Bushcraft and survival expert. During the first half Ray was talking about the different ways that fire could and would have been made. He made it look so easy.He started with a great story about the Thunderbird that I must remember to tell Brownies. Did you know that in the past when people would enter a new home the first thing they would do would be to light a fire to ward off any spirits that might be around, that's where having 'a house warming ' comes from.
The second half he talked about his new series about Australia. Some great stories and nice that he praised his camera man and the rest of his team. What a lovely , down to earth man, passionate about Bushcraft, passionate about wildlife and very humble.
I bought his new book after and asked him to sign it to Fortrose Brownies and told him about our Bushcraft day that is coming up.He thanked me and all those who are leaders , WE 'make a difference' he said ' you really do !'
