Memories
What a miserable morning. L and I went to Glasgow's Riverside Museum formerly known as the Transport Museum. It's always a busy place and for someone of my age many of the exhibits were part of my childhood.
This blip is from a new section called 'A Fair Life'
'Scottish Showmen and women have played a significant role in the cultural history of Scotland and its people. For hundreds of years Showpeople have travelled the country, providing entertainment with their rides and attractions. The Showpeople call these horses 'jumpers' and are as popular today as when they were first introduced to fairs in the 1800s'
The information plaque called them Carousel Horses but I always knew them as Hobby Horses.
