Flash and bang
Today - our last full day in Valletta - has been indoors for much of the time. We visited the Palace and Armoury - each fascinating in their own right and bursting with blips.
We also went to the Co-Cathedral of St John the Baptist which has the most astonishing baroque interior where the various 8 langues of the Knights of St John sought to outdo each other in splendour. The Grand Masters over the years have developed the cathedral and with its oratory of Caravaggio paintings (no photos allowed) it is a site to visit. My extra is of the main cathedral interior.
We headed back to the viewpoint mid-afternoon to find a spot to sit in the evening sun. As it turned out we were in time for the firing of the 16:00 gun. When I saw the photo I decided that despite the splendours of the interiors this had to be the blip. So a canon 2 days in a row!
