Everybody needs a brother for a pillow!

I had a very busy day today, I went up to Penicuik for lunch with Mum and Jim. She had made a delicious pot of homemade leek and potato soup which went down very well. Although Second Chance Cat Rescue is being wound up at the moment, somebody had taken pity on a pregnant stray cat and asked them to take it in. She was admitted to Mum’s pen a couple of weeks ago and had five kittens last Thursday.

The kittens have not opened their eyes yet, so they just lie in a wee furry bundle. Mamma cat is an absolute delight. She is so friendly, it makes us think that she was definitely somebody’s pet and was perhaps abandoned because she was having kittens. I hope to go back in a couple of weeks or so and photograph the wee ones when they have their eyes open and they are on their feet.
