Understand some properties of materials, for example soft/hard, smooth/rough.
Be aware of change and its effects on them, for example their own growth, changes in weather, trees, flowers.

The kids at work loved the huge blocks of ice we put out today and it started a whole load of questions, experiences and numerous changes of clothing and cold fingers!!!
Well at least thats the responsive planning sorted.
