John Thompson

John Thompson was an Oldham based artist who started late on in life after a career in selling furniture if my memory serves. Sadly no longer with us.

He gave me and Catherine this sketch as we bought one if his famous groups pictures, that he framed and signed for us.

He told us he didn't sell his paintings to people he didn't like, so I've always thought we must be ok.

This hangs in our hallway now and its good to sometimes stop and look, god knows how many times we just walk past it.

He's got one of his groups up in the House of Commons apparently, often billed as the next Lowry, you can see why this is different.
