Lindisfarne Castle

A trip today to Holy Island, off the coast of Northumberland .

On the island is the Lindisfarne Castle which is under repair. It has been there since the 16th century so needs some care. We travelled over the causeway to the island by coach. A very interesting day which also included a trip on the recently opened Borders Railway.
