Saffron

The red style branches of Crocus cartwrightianus can be harvested and used as saffron - as can those of many other species.  This species is believed to be the parent of Crocus sativus, the Saffron Crocus, cultivated for millennia but not known in the wild.

Another lovely day, not so much sunshine as yesterday but a grand drying day :-)   A bit more done in the garden, chores, shopping.  Later while Jamie was at Youth club Jacinta and I met up for a lovely meal at a rather nice restaurant out in the country.  One way or another, life will go on.
