Summer is over

Charter flights to and from Skiathos airport – even the German flights, have finished now. The hamlet of Loutraki, which serves as the port, beach and waterfront of Glossa will now revert to a tiny sleepy community with only a handful of occupants. The bus will continue to call in here, the little supermarket will continue to serve locals and Kostas' grill shop will be the only place in the Northern 50% of the island large enough to host any kind of gathering; wedding receptions, funeral wakes, International Women's Day and the high school journey fundraiser. If the shipping companies decide that they will provide a service here over winter, then the port police and the ticket office will open for business as appropriate, but this little tobacco kiosk facing the beach will close and all of its stock will be locked inside.

Presumably as a last ditch attempt to sell off the novelty tobacco products, they have been relocated to the punter side of the glass screened counter, along with toys and sweet or savoury snacks.
