Pulling out the stops

Been to an organ recital today, one in memory of my mum and dad, who were involved in that world.

Simon Hogan was the Organist this time, and the programme is in the extra pictures.

Some proper pieces that had most of the stops pulled out and the windows rattling. Loved it.

Nimrod (Elgar) was brilliant.

Anyway the breretonfund.org has given £18,000 worth of bursaries over the years to help people study, buy music and attend events and courses.

11 years ago the fund gave a 17 year old a bursary to help him study. Now the Organist at Southwell Minster he gave a cracking recital at Rochdale today, as that was Simon.

Feels good.
