Some Days

By Euphemist

What a busy day!

At work until 4 then home, cook too-many-mushroom risotto (the only kind), entertain and be well entertained by a very welcome guest, then late to the band for a rehearsal for the upcoming competition.

I took a quick minute off work this afternoon for a few sneaky photos of the pond at Archerfield, East Lothian. The leaves are starting to turn, especially on the beech and everywhere is really feeling autumnal. We still have the huge blanketweed bloom floating on the the pond, but that is starting to die back, hopefully soon be gone.

Really nice bigger.

This picture is a (failed) attempt to emulate a black and white photograph of the pond taken by an unknown photographer some years ago. It is on the wall in the golf clubhouse, and every time I pass I stop to admire it. I have the angle just about right but not the perspective and feeling of enclosure, although quite a few trees have been removed since those days.

I will keep trying, though!
