The decisive moment
Or as we know it a happy accident of timing.
We looked at the weather forecast for the next three days and decided we should make today a day out.
Headed into deepest East Yorkshire to Burton Agnes Hall, lunch at the Old Star Inn at Killham and finally a mooch around Rudston where a really tall standing stone sits cheek by jowl with the parish church. Interesting also as a branch of the MacDonald clad are buried there. The novelist Winifred Holtby is also there. We've been there before but this time we also found a smaller stone, a cost grave and a Roman burial. It's a lovely spot.
