Swithland Reservoir

This is one of the beauty spots of the local area of where I grew up. What you don't see are the Swithland alps! The quarry workings behind me have changed the landscape to unattractive large red clay heaps. Pleasingly a little later on our walk we saw a deer grazing nearby unperturbed by either the workings or the nearby steam trains and a butterfly enjoying the afternoon sunshine.
