I enjoy the posters around campus. Occasionally one stands out to me.

Remember Pumba the hunter's wild pig? Well Pumba is a movie star!

The hunter was phoned by a guy making a movie. It's about the Maori wars and will be shown on TV at some stage. They needed a wild pig in a scene. They'd been to see lots of pigs - people's pet pigs and Kuni kunis but none were right for the film.

Then someone said they knew the friend of a friend of a friend... who has a wild pig (kind of a pet). The hunter was phoned, the movie people came and looked and declared Pumba perfect.

The hunter make it clear Pumba's welfare was no. 1. The movie people got all the official stuff done with the council and early Sunday morning Pumba was loaded into a horse float and taken to the Groynes.

Because I was away tramping I missed seeing seeing the hunter waist deep in a swamp retrieving (or trying) Pumba from a swamp ;-)

The movie people got lots of great footage, Pumba was retrieved and other than a bit of stress no pigs were harmed :-)
