Registan Square

As we weren't leaving the hotel till 4pm we had a wander to the square where there were 2 grumpy brides. It was very quiet compared with yesterday - and really sunny and hot. After taking more photos (Mr C at the square) we went back to my favourite place, the the Bibi-Khanum Mosque, built by Timur with loot from his Indian campaign fir his favourite wife.. A young bearded man asked me to take his photo on his phone with Mr C - 2 beardies ! Some schoolgirls followed us, giggling, with a selfie stick, so we had fun with them. Then a couple of women wanted their pic with me - they were Kyrghiz.

We got back to the hotel, had a beer and then left on a bus for the train station for our 5.30 train to Tashkent. We had to show passport and ticket at perimeter of station, then bags scanned and ticket stamped. Then through more scanners at the entrance. The station is very grandiose. Then we found the train had broken down and a replacement would not arrive till 7.30pm, getting us in to Tashkent around 10.

When we arrived we had no time to eat, as we had to be up at 4 am for the flight. Poor Anna, though exhausted and unwell, did a nice speech for Ruslan and we gave him his tips.
