A grand day out!

Friday
What a great day!  Started out with us meeting Lady Findhorn in Harvey Nicks for a late breakfast.  I hasten to add that the very slimline LadyF only succumbed to a scone, while Mike and I tucked in to porridge and croissant respectively. Great to have a laugh and a chat and catch up with her.

Onward to the National Museum to see the Galloway Hoard, which is "the richest collection of rare and unique Viking -age objects ever found in Britain".  Wonderful to see it, beautiful and fascinating.  Amazing to think that they have been buried for over a thousand years.  What else is out there, as yet undiscovered?

We spent six hours in the museum. Every room was filled with more wonders and treasures. We couldn't tear ourselves away - far too much to see!  This is what happens when you only visit cities very occasionally!  There will have to be another expedition!

It was with aching hips and knees that we made our way back to the campervan, and not long after it was lights out!
