The Orange Sky

A very strange day. Arrived at Sandown Bay to find a hazy orange coloured sun casting odd reflections on the sea. As the morning progressed it got steadily darker with the whole world seemingly turning sepia until the sun finally disappeared as if it was an eclipse.
Spent a couple of hours photographing the scene which should produce some images very different from the norm.
Apparently the tail end of storm Ophelia which was hitting Ireland badly was dragging up dust particles and flash fire debris up from the continent causing a thick cloud of pollution reminiscent of old time pea soup fog.
By late afternoon the wind had picked up and the cloud was dispersed.
By coincidence today is the 30th anniversary of the Great Storm of 1987.
