Half a lifetime

I bought a pair of DMs just before I started my HND in Building Studies, as the prospectus advised that I would need a pair of sturdy boots for site visits.
I wore them yesterday as they are the nearest I have to bike boots - they are quite uncomfortable as the tongue has disintegrated, most of the lining has gone, and there's a seam that rubs on the ankle.

However - they are still wearable, despite them being 24 years old, and literally half my age.

(I may also be quite pleased that I can still fit into my leather jacket and trousers that I've had since my teens, so somewhat older than the boots.)
