Night sky at 1pm

Another warm, sunny day, but I had to work on phone.
Look up at 1pm and it was dark. Really night time dark.
People I was talking with in Paris didn't believe me.
Light returned up a bit a couple of hours later, but never got very light again.
I saw nothing of yellow sky other people were talking about.
Was very scared.
