The sun appeared

We had a really brief power cut which meant we lost connection with the hub which is in the house next door which meant we were without the internet for a while. The owners are now back so all back on :)

A wonder day exploring the local area and places we had nt been before. We had a drive around Waternish. First a breezy walk in Stein. The 'palm trees' struggling to stay up right.Beautiful light on the beach and white washed houses. We watched young gannets diving head first into the choppy water.
On to Trumpan where the wind would have taken the door off if we parked the wrong way round. The rain had started so decided not to go and explore the ruined church, we ' e been before and will return when less windy.
A field of Highland cattle were enjoying the sunshine as we drove back to along the road, yes, the weather changes that quickly ;)
On to Geary, a small area of about 40 crofts.A fascinating area with a variety of buildings from the very old, abandoned crafts to super, modern new builds .At the end of the dead end road we came across a croft where an animal rescue centre has been set up.There were goats happily hobbling along courius to say hello. Chickens crowing loudly at each other and a gaggle of geese. A lovely box selling eggs and marmalade helps to raise funds for the up keep of the animals.
Back to our cottage for a cuppa and then out again this time to the Glendale area. We explored to road to Orbost with fine views of the Macleods tables and then on to the jetty at Colbost.A great place for photographs, lots of creels, up turned boats and views across to Dunvegan castle.
On to Milovaig pier where we watched upside down waterfalls pouring into the sky.A fisherman sat on the rocks with what looked like a bag if fish after a good catch. Seals bobbed up, checking us out.
The road to Neist point was abit busier and reminded us of photos of traffic jams we had seen in the Summer.
Super light on the cliffs, very windy so we did nt get out.
Back home to have dinner, casserole with dumplings from the Co op which was very tasty :)
We looked out for the aurora and could see a faint glow, abit too much cloud though. Above us hundreds of stars twinkled.
