Teatro Antico
When we set out this morning there didn’t seem to be many people around but when we got to the road which leads up to the amphitheatre you could hardy move for tourists; it seems everyone had decided to visit there this morning. Once inside it wasn't too bad though, but there's much restoration work going on so scaffolding and workmen had to be avoided. Looking through the space in the centre of the shot, the building you see is an old monastery (now an hotel) where we stay, and you can just make out Mount Etna behind gently erupting.
The weather here is calm which makes thoughts of storms at home seems a long way off. We've kept checking on Ophelia's progress and it looks as if it's been an ordeal and a tragedy - and so terrible for people caught up in it.
Thank you for the response to yesterday's blip, it's very much appreciated.
