Caws Llyffant

Caws Llyffant ~ Fungus (Lit. 'Toad's Cheese')

Yn Saesneg mae 'Toad's Stool' gyda ni, ond yn Gymraeg 'Caws Llyffant' ydy e.  Mae erthygl ddiddorol yma (In The English Language We Call Them “Toadstools”), sy'n awgrymu bod y gair cywir yw 'gwenwyn', nid 'llyffant'.

In English, we have 'Toad's Stool'  but in Welsh it's  'Toad's Cheese'. There is an interesting article here (In The English Language We Call Them "Toadstools"), which suggests that the correct word is 'poison', not 'toad'.
