Storm over Stein
We were waiting for the storm to arrive in the afternoon so we went out in the morning to beat the worst of the predicted weather.
Strange sky and very dramatic. We went down to the jetty in Stein.Mike stayed in the car and I walked down the jetty, the tide was out and cormorants were lined up at the end, some drying their wings.Glimpses of sunlight hit the village with the very dark clouds behind. It rained before I got back to the car.A drive over to Geary to get some marmalade from the Rescue Centre. All the goats were inside but the geese were still out and an olympic runner hen ;)
The light was amazing with the orange under the clouds.
Coming along the road back from Trumpan the sky became even darker although the view was clear towards the Macloeds tables.A sudden flash surprises us, had the flash on the camera gone off ? No it was lightning , another flash across the sky and a loud crash of thunder followed by an amazing flash right in front of us.In a matter of minutes it had past.
We went to Ian Williams gallery, had a cup of tea and a lovely chat with Ian for about 30 minutes. He was talking about Wild swimming something he does everyday as a way to control pain.
Back to Stein and a tasty relaxing meal in front of the log burner with a view through the little window to the Loch.
A few more rain showers, some wind but nothing out of the ordinary.
The cows in the extra made me laugh, as if the tree would give them shelter ;)
The other shows a shepherdess gathering in her sheep which then sheltered behind a tin roofed shed !
