Passing through

Sometimes there are one or two swans in residence at the Mere for a couple of months or maybe the season, but there haven’t been any for a while.
This morning I came across a whole squadron of swans - they were only around for 15 minutes or so and then took off with a spectacular noise to wherever it is they were heading for. It would have been nice if they had stayed, but there probably isn’t enough for the whole team to eat round here.
