Whitsunday Islands, Australia
What an amazing day! The weather wasn't great AGAIN but apart from the morning rain it was just overcast the rest of the day. We arranged the Thundercat day tour to the Whitsundays Islands to explore the different beaches and do some snorkelling. We got our wet suit and stinger suits on (in case of jellyfish stings) and headed on the boat. The Thundercat was certainly an experience! First it went fast then we were riding the waves, crashing into them. It was great but a bit scary too - bit like a roller coaster ride! Firstly we stopped off and walked through the bush to the Hill inlet lookout which overlooked Whitehaven beach. We then went down to Whitehaven beach and it was stunning - white sands, clear turquoise water. In a small inland area of water a group saw a stingray. After some lunch we headed to find areas where we could snorkal and did two seperate dives on Stonehaven beach. I was a bit skeptical at first as I had never done it before (and y'know sharks etc etc) but as we were all doing it as a group with our noodles to keep us afloat and I absolutely loved it, glad I decided to go for it. The array of colourful coral and tropical fish was fantastic to see, some swimming all around you. One thing ticked off the bucket list - snorkeling in coral reef :) Would love to do more in the future too!
