This was the nice part of the day.

When I got back home, there was a message on the answering machine. Julie's father's been hospitalised. He hadn't been feeling good these past few weeks, the treatment the doc had given him for his bronchitis made him worse with more side effects than I can list. He called his neighbours last night because he felt even worse (he couldn't feel his arms and legs!)) and they called the EMTs who took him to the hospital. We talked to him this morning and he's still feeling groggy. Needless to say, we'll be taking news regularly. We had planned to go to Brittany next week anyway...

To finish on a more joyful note: I just saw that the Tour de France stage on 12 July 2018 (from Brest to Mûr-de-Bretagne) will be on roads very close to home!
