The long and winding road

A couple of weeks ago the first part of Europe's biggest single construction project opened.
The Aberdeen Western Peripheral Road, aka the by-pass, is a 70+ kilometre road that starts at Stonehaven and finishes near Ellon. At the moment it can take 1 1/2 hrs to do the journey just now. Soon it could be done in a third of the time.
There is around 600 miles of road, I believe, altogether in this project. This includes many slip roads and adjourn my roads and alterations of existing roads.
There are also more than a dozen bridges of all shapes and sizes.
This newly opened bit is the end of it where it connects to and existing dual carriageway. It is contraflow just now, but the other carriageway is being built.
It is due to open fully next year.
