Uglies drying in the sun....

Well that's the final bisque on for 2017!!!  it's been a long day of greenware cleaning and loading the kiln...i didn't have an inch to spare and had to get quite creative in loading all the mugs, uglies etc.

That's about 1/2 of the 140 ugly mugs drying in the morning sun.  Another glorious day here....

On a sadder note:  i just want to mention the passing of one of the great Canadian poets/singer/activist/humanitarian/all round great guy... Gord Downie.   As we knew here in Canada, this day would come...but somehow you're just never prepared for the amount of sadness you feel at the news of his passing.   We (Canadians) grieved a year and a half ago when he announced he had brain cancer....i cried along with  over half the population of this country watched his final performance with his band, The Tragically Hip.....what an inspiration he has been to many artists and humans during his energetic life time....but he showed such courage facing his own death.......53 is just way to young to have to leave this earth!   Yesterday was a day of tributes pouring in, especially on our main radio station, CBC, my usual morning ritual in the studio is to listen to the show Q.....at times like this i am so grateful to have the privacy of my own environment to let the tears flow as i trimmed the last of the mugs....so many moving stories about what Gord Downie meant to people!

I think Terry might be bringing pizza home for dinner....mmmmm
