comfort zone
I don't often remember dreams although changing my sleep apttern markedly is pretty much guaranteed to result in recall. I set the alarm for half an hour later than usual this morning as I suspected it might be a long day (twelve hours door-door in the end) and had again failed to blip before eleven. Last night's dream for some reason involved a couple of Aliens and some other form of extra-terrestrial beastie. Although they still gave the impression of being thoroughly nasty the Aliens were siding with humans against the other threat (still can't remember who they were but they had tetrahedral spacecraft) and might have even spoken a bit. Despite not immediately eating everybody they were nevertheless still not to be trusted as they wouldn't just go and sacrifice themselves to kill the other beasties when asked. Not entirely sure where it all came from (I suspect the alien represents a looming work matter) but it was entertaining enough albeit mildly scary in places but the effects were good enough to be annoyed when I woke up.
Also on a scientifically-fictitious topic; today is the UK publication date of Sixty Days and Counting by Kim Stanley Robinson. Read the first two books in the trilogy first if you haven't already.
Really can't remember what else I did today but that's probably because it was all work with a brief hour and an half of walking around the strangely subdued city at either end. Maybe it's strangely subdued because it's the school holidays (it's certainly made Lauriston Place much more pleasant to cross in the morning) although school holidays usually results in large crowds of unimaginative and bored children roaming the streets shrieking unintelligibly and ODing on sugar.
I took a brief moment at lunchtime to upgrade my camera bag but won't see the results for a couple of days.
I discovered that the Tropical Flavour juice cartons sold in the canteen at work are disgusting despite consisting of the same theoretical ingredients as proper flavour smoothies.
I finally hit on the right amount of coffee grounds to use in the machine when making two flasks' worth of coffee in the morning. 'Raaay.
Still time to blip before 23:01. Nighty-night.
