Waiting for a boat - Zürichsee

I had a few hours in Zurich this morning before going to the airport for the trip home which, owing to a late plane and a tight connection resulted in a frantic dash through Paris’ enormous Charles De Gaulle Airport.

I didn’t have time to go on one of the boats on the lake which goes southeast from Zurich ( that’s for another visit) , but i did spend some time by the pier, watching them coming and going with a wonderful backdrop of mountains on the horizon.

On the way to last night’s lecture we took a different mode of transport - a funicular which goes from the centre of the city up a hill at the top of which sits not just Zurich University but also its neighboring Technical University. I thought that unusual mode of transport was worth a blip too so it is my extra photo;
