Marvellous Magnolia

I just googled this weird thing growing on our magnolia. (See extra too)
Turns out that it's a fruit!!
The poor old tree is a bit diseased and has been battered by our Irish weather; but she bravely battled on and fruited! What a girl!
I'm going to have to give her a name. Maggie is a bit obvious, isn't it?
