Blissful day

We left the campsite this morning and set off for ... well, we weren't entirely commited to a destination and had a small handful of possibilities in mind, the first of which was here.

Here is a small cobbled car park on the side of the Loire at Saint Clement des Levées. Once again we had a marvelous drive along the levée through the amazing Loire valley scenery. Hot and sunny again .

Enchanted as we were by this location, we were not going to look elsewhere. There is an artisan baker behind us on the levée, and a bar. In front of us is the mighty River with its riverside distance footpath. We walked Nell along that to the next village down the road earlier this afternoon. A pumpkin loaf made into ham and cheese sandwiches fueled us for that and we returned home to coffee and patisserie, both items purchased on our arrival from the Boulangerie.

This evening we watched the sun go down across the river then enjoyed the egrets and heron fishing for supper and silhouetted against the river's reflection of the dying light.

Darkness is tall my now and we are waiting for the Orionids to appear.

Not going far tomorrow, if things work out ok. Just a couple of miles upriver
