Labour Day weekend

Altough it's only half way through spring, Labour Day weekend (bank holiday) in New Zealand has always been the unofficial start of summer activities.

The sheep in the foreground don't seem excited about it but I'm sure the sailors were enjoying scudding along with the stiff breeze at Lake Aviemore this afternoon.

At this point it was raining and a bit grey and ugly but by the time I got to my camping spot on Lake Benmore 20 minutes later the sky was blue and it was warm enough to relax outside in my deck chair with a book.
