277/366 - Unity

Today was the funeral of PC Nicola Hughes. The police shut Deansgate for the procession to Manchester Cathedral where her funeral was being held. There are some truly sick people in this world, and it is incredibly sad that two of our finest have lost their lives through dealing with one of them. The other officer shot that day Fiona Bone is being laid to rest tomorrow, in a similar service as today.

What a fitting tribute to the officers, the crowds lined all the way along Deansgate, some police officers and "joe public" had come to pay their respects. Lovely that the sun chose to shone this AM as it has been constant rain in Manchester the past few weeks.
