Cape Bruny Lighthouse

We cycled to Adventure Bay, and then worked our way slowly up Mt Mangana, dropping the bikes at the layby and walking the 4km return to the summit. There was a reasonable view, but would definitely be improved by a 2 story tower to get about the trees! A very bumpy descent followed before turning left towards cloudy bay.
Disaster struck! I heard a sharp ping, and noticed the one of the spokes in the tandem had broke. Under closes inspection, 3 had broken. Knowing that riding on that wheel would quickly end in disaster, K and C began to walking to Lunawanna, and we continued to Cloudy Bay.
In Lunawanna, K and C have relatives who kindly offered to lend them their ute, thus they drove to Jetty Beach campsite, and we cycled along the gravel road, visiting the lighthouse on route.

The lighthouse is the 2nd oldest extant lighthouse in Australia - first lit 1838 - and has the record for the longest continuously manned lighthouse (158 years).
