late autumn shades
A little taste of winter in the wind this evening. Yesterday I watched squadrons of Redwings moving through the trees on the ridge. Tonight they were all gathered in the holly lower down the valley. And when the dogs and I flushed them they had a couple of Bramblings in amongst.
The buzzard did his (or her) usual evening patrol of the golf course.
A day or two back a Stoat was unusually relaxed in the open -lingering on the stone wall around the cow field. I often suspect there's one in there from hissing noises which the dogs attract when they stick their noses into holes but I don't often get a good view. Weasels are commoner.
