A Pilgrimage

A Sunday drive into the province of Rethimnon once more.

Gorgeous views onto the mountains while driving and a visit to the St.Anthony Gorge where I took this picture some Cretan ladies who made their pilgrimage to the Agios Antonios Chapel in the rocks there... a cave chapel it is.

The taverna at the start of the gorge was packed with people, Greeks from all over Crete and also from the mainland... all on a day out with busses; there were lots of Pullman busses. And than when there, the walk up to the little chapel is a Must Do, so all who can walk, does walk up to that chapel... a little pilgrimage 

and the other day Madchickenwoman  asked me where are the Cretan ladies?! Well here you have some!
