I have quite an intense week ahead, so spent today indulging myself in Steaming both felt and suet! I got some cubed beef in Germany earlier in the week, and found in the cupboard a packet of British procured suet, so made a Gary Rhodes beef and mushroom pudding. It’s not something I have made for a long time, and realised that I a) didn’t have the right sized basin and b) didn’t have the lid to the steamer in Switzerland. However, Improvisation worked, and a beautiful pudding ensued. Fingers crossed that this bodes well for next weeks workshops. Sorry dorsetb, this won’t be on the menu when you visit.... we will have better things to do than spending hours making supper!
