We heard from both children today, Sam is a fan of WhatsApp often sending pictures of her latest culinary achievement and that are achievements considering she had only attempted pancakes at home. Lots of pictures of her field trips and student life in general her messages are not regular but always welcome.
Joshua is more isolated, without access to television or newspapers, limited access to a radio and access to their mobile telephones restricted to a period of time each evening that depends upon the conduct of the platoon as a whole. A couple of times the calls have been abruptly terminated as the call from the Duty Corporal goes out “phones to the box, now”.
It’s always good to speak and/or hear from both of them but seeing them both in a couple of weeks is the most anticipated event of the coming months.
