New traditions

Another new tradition for me, "Toussaint" - All saints day on November 1st, and commemoration des fideles des funtes, (all souls day) on November 2nd, French people honour their dead, families gathering together and taking flowers (chrysanthemums) and candles to the grave. This explains the increase in flowers for sale everywhere locally. Even a whole shop has appeared in Perigueux.
And the children now have 2 weeks Toussaint holiday, this is apparently so they can help with the potato harvest. I wonder if it will work if I tell mine that their 2 weeks are so they can help with the apple, nut, leek, tomato and pepper harvest?
