Poor Little Panda

I had better (more conventionally cute) shots of this little guy but the point of this blog is to show Nanchang in 2012 so I went with an image that placed the Panda in context in Nanchang - that is to say in his enclosure in Nanchang Zoo.

There was an outdoor area for him too but as today was quite warm I guess he preferred to stay inside. Sadly for an animal that is considered a national treasure here he doesn't look like he's living in much of a palace, and the outside area had empty plastic water bottles, crisp packets, even the odd pot noodle container that visitors had just dumped over the barrier.

Actually though the zoo itself is quite good, it's just a shame the same can't be said of some of the visitors
