Sculpture, Prestonpans.

Sunday morning bike ride is on the same route as last week. Like last week it is breezy, but it is a bit cooler as it is quite cloudy. As I get down to Musselburgh, the clouds are starting to clear, and the sun is watery.

The climb up to Tranent is quite quiet being a Sunday morning. Soon I am through Tranent and on to the old A1. I turn off on the road signed Bangly, then down to Aberlady and the coastal road.

At Prestonpans, I pass this sculpture. Its been on my mind to blip it for a while. It is by Leslie Frank Chorley, and was created in 1968. It had to have some restoration in 1990. It depicts the industries that Prestonpans was famous for, but I can't find out of the sculpture represents some or all of them. These are coal mining, fishing, brewing and potteries. So I think its up to the viewer to interpret it.

From here, its continuing along the coast road back to Musselburgh, then retracing my steps (wheels?) home. A smidgen over 73km.

In the afternoon, my partner and I go down to Stockbridge. Its quite busy in the charity shops. Nothing much catches my eye. At least I get coffee and cake.
