Island Post

Oldest Victorian Post box, Union Street

Following my series of over 100 post boxes at the start of my blip journal, I missed this one out, due to scaffolding around it. I thought I would cycle there today as it is a sunny day!
The plaque next to this box says, The British Post Office installed its earliest roadside posting boxes in the Channel Islands in 1852/53. This box is the oldest survivor still in daily use and restored to be what is believed to be the original livery of that era.
