Rajah Rammohun Roy, Seagull & Unicorn
This statue of Rajah Rammohun Roy 1772-1833 stands between the Cathedral and the Council House - he was a Philosopher, Reformer, Patriot, Scholar and a founding father of Indian Renaissance. He died in Bristol and has a rather fine mausoleum in Arnos Vale Cemetery. The unicorn is one of two standing proudly on the council house roof and the seagull - well he is one of 7000 that are reckoned to live in the city, unfortunately
