Making dinosaurs

Our topic at the moment is dinosaurs.  We have watched walking with dinosaurs, found out about the evolution of life up to the arrival of the dinosaurs, looked at the movement of the tectonic plates and how fossils of whales can now be found in the desert, measured our stride against that of a dinosaur of a similar height to determine whether or not we could probably outrun it (we think we can!) and in the photo above we made our own moving dinosaurs.  We have also found out how we can determine what the dinosaurs probably looked like from a pile of bones, and how clues like the shape of their teeth help us to work out what they would have eaten.  We have a fantastic lift the flap book on dinosaurs too which the boys can read to themselves and to me.  I am loving this topic!  Oh... and I think the boys are too!
