Salthouse

This morning I went on a walk with the Norfolk Wildlife Trust from Cley over to the 'New Land' which was acquired three years ago. The path from the old site to the bird hide was opened by Sir David Attenborough a couple of years ago, but there's still a lot of 'settling in' to do for the area. It was very interesting to hear the history - that tract of land sat between two bits of NWT land and was used for private waterfowl shooting and lots of lead shot had to be removed when the scrapes were redeveloped. This is the view across the reed marshes towards Salthouse.
