Reach Out and Touch
Last night I shouted the kittehs in for the night Beau came waddling in as always, let's face it, she was pressing her little fat bod hard against the door before I even considered shouting them.
But Bean, Bean emerged from the Shed, slower and more considered than normal, and walked cautiously over the door.
She moved to sit down but hesitated and tried again. My heart sunk. Something was wrong with my wee pussy! I shouted Si. He came thru and looked. And looked worried.
I decided to call the emergency vet.
I think my cat is constipated, I said.
And why do you think that? And I explained.
You aren't a vet you really can't diagnose her.
Oh I think I can. After I had Boy I was constipated for two weeks. Two bloody weeks. I was walking slowly and with considation; movement over steps was done with great caution. And sitting down; you've got to be bloody kidding.
I had a the insight story into constipation.
I think you should bring her in she said...
And that will be a £149.50 out of office hours charge . Before any treatment!!!
I think we'll wait til morning I said.
Are you on benefits she asked?
Eh, no, I just don't want to pay 149.50 for you to tell me my cat is constipated.
So Bean went to bed in her favourite chair and I paced the floor. All night. Well actually that is a big fat lie. I stayed in bed, and worried and tossed and turned.
But, at 630 am 'arp arp'. There she was, side of the bed, and she bounced off down the stairs, sat down hard on her bum and and waited.
And I opened the door and off she charged.
At 0800 she appeared back, came in ate a packet of food, had a cuddle with himself and then pissed off again.
Both of us were out all day and I dashed home from work and quick in case of fatalities. But no... there she was on the doorstep pacing to get in.
I fed her a tin of tuna and then another one. She jumped around a bit and then headed off again.
No poo's to be found anywhere. Must have just moved down her tubes and come out in the garden this morning
See, I could be a vet.
Anyone want to know the inside story of my post pregnancy constipation?
