PIN-UPS
Morrisons as usual this morning. Weather was damp. Just been pottering around at home doing nothing much for the rest of the day. Neil came here after work and is staying overnight. It was back to the old routine of cooking him steak, chips and onion rings for his tea - and putting his clothes in the washing machine.
I was doing some sorting out in one of the spare rooms when I came across a box containing part of Douglas's large card collection. He mainly collected cigarette cards but also all sorts of trade cards such as those which came with gum or in packs of tea etc. I flicked through a few albums and came across these cards and thought they would be worth blipping.
They are Dandy Gum cards - a series called PIN-UPS. They were issued in 1956. The album contains a full set of small playing cards - including jokers. Dandy was a Danish company founded in 1915. Their primary brand of gum was Stimorol. The company was taken over by Cadbury - Schweppes in 2002. I have tagged them for Wild Wednesday. Maybe in 1956 these images might have sent men wild!.
